Note that it's pretty straightforward to get home-assistant running via Docker on TNAS. I'm on TOS 5 F4-423.
Broadly speaking you can follow the instructions from here - https://www.home-assistant.io/installation/alternative/
1 - Install the Docker Manager from the App Center
2 - In the Registry tab search for homeassistant/home-assistant
3 - Download the HomeAssistant docker Image to your NAS (click the download button, top right) 4 - Run the Docker image 5 - you will have to map a volume for the Docker data, and make sure you bridge the network to the host
6 - Once it's running you can access the web page via <yourNASIP>:<Port> (8123 in my example)
