Have a F5-221 that whenever I try and delete a second storage pool it just comes right back. The storage pool has no drives in it so it shows a raid error.
Originally I had 4 500GB configured in Raid 6 giving me about 925gb of space and a fifth drive as a 120gb ssd for applications. I wanted to try and use the ssd as a cache for the raid 6 so I deleted the ssd storage pool but after selecting the ssd to cache for the storage pool the tnas went back to the initial setup page. When I tried to resetup the device I could only see the 120gb ssd. I ended up selecting that and created a single disk. Once tnas was setup again I found the raid6 but it had a error about the ssd cache and it would not go away. I tried deleting the storage pool but either it was greyed out or was doing the same thing where it would delete but then come right back. I took out all of the drives and cleaned them with diskpart in windows. I also replaced two of the drives with some 1tb ones. My plan there was to put them in a raid 0+1 however tnas didn't seem to want to do this. So I went for jbod. Now though I still see the raid 6 in the list and it still wont let me delete it. I've even tried a factory reset but it seems to do the same thing as the delete where it goes through like its going to reset but then doesn't.
F5-221 Cannot delete storage pool
Re: F5-221 Cannot delete storage pool
do you have the possibility (with an adapter) to connect the ssd and the Harddrives to a Pc or Laptop and format them quickly?
Let me tell you that is better to create Raid5 because youve finally more space to save data. And you can have 1 HDD failure without loosing data
