I saw several posts of issues when people have updated. I have a
F2-221
running
4.2.09-2101251735-P1.06 TOS
and
1.22.3.4392 Plex server
If I update to 4.2.12, am I going to have a bunch of issues and lose the metadata? Has that been addressed or only was in specific cases?
Safe to update to 4.2.12 for Plex Server?
Re: Safe to update to 4.2.12 for Plex Server?
I updated my F2-221 from 4.2.09 to 4.2.12.2104131759 a few days ago.
Plex server 1.22.3.4392 is still working as it was before the update.

Re: Safe to update to 4.2.12 for Plex Server?
I have the same question as the OP. I am currently running TOS 4.2.09 with patch 1.06 installed on a F4-220 (Intel CPU). My Plex Media Server is version 1.21.4.4079 which has been up and running for several months now with no issues. Is it safe to update the TOS to 4.2.12 and also update the Plex Media Server to the latest available from Terr-Master?? Thanks . . .

Re: Safe to update to 4.2.12 for Plex Server?
If it makes a difference, I updated straight from TOS 4.2.09 to 4.2.14 with the latest version of Plex (1.23.2.4656) installed and I've had no issues whatsoever even after multiple reboots.Gandalf1369 wrote: ↑01 Jun 2021, 19:23 I have the same question as the OP. Re: Safe to update to 4.2.12 for Plex Server?
I now have Plex running in docker with hardware accelerated transcoding working properly. See here for details: viewtopic.php?f=51&t=2236Dennis_H wrote: ↑31 May 2021, 22:31
I thought about doing docker, but really want the ability to transcode if needed. I like the idea of not waiting for updates from TM. I also use it primarily for music (FLAC files), but have also moved all my DVD and BluRay discs over to it. For the most part I don't need to transcode, but do on occasion, so want the hardware transcoding. Will probably try to go to 4.2.12 and see if it nukes it, and if it is OK, probably try to wait till maybe there is a way of doing hardware transcoding in Docker.
