I installed a WD Green 480GB SSD in my F5 422, it is well seen by TOS
but impossible to use it to cache, I have "------------" in the cache menu.

Best regards

Hi,
Can you add a screenshot as an attachment? You should be able to enable the SSD and select the partition to use.

Hello,
You can try to restart the device.

I had the exact same problem and was told it was because I was running TOS 4.2.10 beta OS and this is a known issue. In order to fix it they want me to reinstall TOS from scratch and go back to 4.2.09. I haven't done that yet as I am afraid of losing my existing data though I've been told it will not be erased. Are you running the newest beta version of TOS also? My current setup was (3) 16TB drives in a RAID 5 config that always worked fine. I wanted to add a 4 Samsung 850 SSD and was unable to do so getting the same result that the original poster here did.

yes I confirm I am using TOS 4.2.10 beta because I have so many problems with 4.2.09 (SMB and FTP does not work well) problem of special characters (french) and forcing dates in FTP.
But 4.2.10 does not work better than 4.2.09.
At times I wonder if I should not put TrueNas to solve the problems.

And to answer the question, reboot does not change anything for the SSD.

Please try switching to English to see if the cache can be set.

Do you have another SSD to try? I afraid of that is a compatibility issue.

I don't have another SSD, but Enigma55 has the same problem as me and I think not with the same drive.

If it can confirm the brand of the SSD.
