So angry with TNAS

I have an Tnas F5-422 Running TOS Version 4.2.07-2012241608. I logged into the TNAS via FireFox. I navigated to a folder, selected a bunch of files to be deleted. I deleted the files. Navigated to the recycle bin. Saw all the files I just deleted. Emptied the recycle bin. Recycle bin was now empty. Went back to the same folder as before and all the files where still there. So I started looking at other folders to see if some thing else was deleted. Then found that another folder that contained a lot of files was now empty and the files where gone. These where files I did not have a back up yet and now I am screwed. So I hope you can understand why I am so angry.

As a fellow user, sorry to hear this.

A couple of things.

I'm surprised you're using Firefox to get to the tnas desktop. When I try Firefox the screens don't work right. Like no scroll bars or other issues. I found that I have to use chrome and that's true whether I'm logging in from android or windows devices. Have you tried chrome?

Also were the files large/numerous. If I try manipulating files or directories from the tnas desktop I get a warning popup that the file action will be slow (maybe they should add unreliable to the warning) and recommends samba. So, I use samba from a win 10 machine and have had no issues. I've moved and deleted 10s of thousands of files using samba with no issues (the samba log was actually in the millions of records the last time I looked).

Hope this helps in the future.

It was numerous files. I never got a warning to pop up and have so far no issues using Firefox...

See attached image. You probably, at some point, checked the box to stop showing the pop-up warning.

Hi,
Deleting the data in the recycle bin of a shared folder will not affect the data of other shared folders.
Have you done any operations on the lost file folder, such as backup, data synchronization, or mounting.

Dont tell it will not effect other data when it did effect. No to your other questions. I unfortunately did not have that backed up. 95% backed up except for this one folder and its content. I can replace the data its just doing to take a lot of work to do so. Days of work.........

Have you done anything with this folder?
For example, using the mirror backup mode in USB Copy to transfer a folder in the USB to TNAS.
