I have been running 2 of those in Traid on basic F2-424 (For os/apps only) for several months. They work.

I see. I'm still very new to NAS. When you say you have those 2 Crucial P3 500GB in TRAID configuration for OS/Apps only, does that mean you're not using 1 of them for caching? Is there a reason why you didn't split 1 x OS/Apps and 1 x Cache?

I don't use any applications that really require caching. (I don't actually think that many do really need this function).
Much prefer a redundancy factor by having mirrored (Traid in this case) drives.
