The lack of an on-line update from 6 -> 7 has already been discussed. It is not reassuring that @TM felt they had to meet their self-imposed release timeline when not everything was as ready as it could be. I have a feeling that even users who avoid the Beta will still be "crash test dummies" in the near future. My sole remaining Tos6 (production) device will not be updated until later. (But, I do tend to perform staggered updates over my devices anyway)
if theres issues with the bios settings though i can understand to a certain extent why they wouldnt offer an online update just yet and there needs to be that manual check

Updated F2-424 no problems without the need for a bios tweak
F2-423 updated also but needed to swap over the boot order, again no issues, longest part of the update was getting a monitor and keyboard close enough to the nas drive in the comms cabinet in the first place :)

interestingly at time of writing this its actually version 7.0.0747

I've read that automatic update will come very soon.

They just had some pressure to release official TOS 7 with their new F4-425 pro launch. That was everywhere on the internet for the last 10 days, reddit, Facebook, YouTube, i didn't have to search for an obscured thread somewhere on the internet... 😉

Don't try to offend, just found your post funny 😀

Still having this issue trying to setup new backup using USB COPY app.
I setup the location to save the backup to and it just randomly picks one of my drives and then when it tries to backup it fails.
The destination on both of these backups should be the same but for some reason the first one(Jane Pictures)gives drive SDG and the actual drive name is SDF. The few times I've tried it the name has changed from SDE, SDI and SDG and all 3 are valid drives in my Drive bay.

The Plex Backup runs just fine but it was a backup that I had setup months ago and is going to SDF like it should.

Our lab investigation found that this issue occurs when the domain group names of LDAP domain users contain uppercase letters. As a temporary workaround, you can either modify the group names, or move the users who need to log in to another group, then leave the domain and rejoin it. We will fix this issue as soon as possible.
Update: After following the instructions with a new test user, I was able to access the TOS Web with the LDAP user as before.
Since the default user groups cannot be changed, I hope an update to fix this bug will be released soon.

We have documented the "failed to retrieve data" and will fix it soon
File manager wont load "502 Bad Gateway nginx/1.18.0 (Ununtu)": please go to app center and update file manager

As for mobile app, please export app log for analysis:
iOS: Open the Files app, navigate to On My iPhone > TNAS mobile 3 > Log, long-press the log file, select "Share," and send it via email or another method.
Android: Open your phone's file manager, navigate to Internal Storage > Download > TNASmobile_log, compress the log folder, and send it to the support email address.

Would you install windows updates manually after downloading them one by one because you know about an obscure thread somewhere on the internet where the updates are advertised?

I for one, after messing up with a betas and finally failing miserably with the last two, went to TOS6 and want to just play safe as a regular user would. So as a regular user I am expected to know about this obscure thread, read the instructions, download and install manually? If that's final TOS7 and the normal upgrade path, that's a fail for most users.

A good UX would be getting a notification like NEW TOS7 WAS JUST RELEASED. HERE'S WHAT'S NEW... CLICK FOR UPGRADE! Then click, reboot and have TOS7 running.

Of course this is just my opinion as an an ex beta tester and a humble recently converted regular user.
If you're not in a hurry, you don't need to manually update right now — you can wait a bit longer. For TOS 6 users, we will roll out online push updates soon, but they will be delivered in batches by model.

Here are a few solutions you can try:

Check your network connection: Ensure your NAS has a stable internet connection. Sometimes, the installation package only downloads halfway (due to a disconnection or timeout), causing an "Error State=2" error during extraction.

Clear the cache and try again: Refresh the page in the TOS application center, and then click install again.
