Hello TM support with my second F4 SSD im facing an issue that it wont auto start/shutdown during the scheduled time window. So my backups are failing from TNAS1 to TNAS2. Do we need to program the startup/shutdown rules after every TOS update?
What kind of information do you need to troubleshoot this blocking auto start problem?
We haven’t received any other similar reports yet.
Just to be sure, let me confirm these with you. Did this issue start after you updated to version 7.0.0559? Was everything working fine before the update? What version were you using before the update?
You can try applying the settings again to override any old settings that might not be taking effect.

I'm upgrading every TOS7 beta release, the releases before where the previous TOS7 betas. It's since a release of 3 a 4 that my backups are reported failed by the primary NAS. I saved the lines again and the NAS2 did shutdown at 15:00 today, thats how it should. So lets for next sunday if it boots up, I created an alert in my monitor to receive a push message when it boots.

I believe I have a similar problem but I think it started with 7.0.0567. My F2-425+ started correctly on 2nd May but didn't start on the 9th and 16th.

The mains supply comes from an old (but with fresh batteries) APC UPS but there's no data connection between UPS and NAS.
What is the specific model of your UPS? Could you please take a look at the settings in your control center - General Settings - Power Settings? You can also enable debug mode in "Support and Help" - "Debug Mode". After experiencing abnormal startup or shutdown, you can send the debug logs to our email address, so that we can locate and troubleshoot the issue

APC has a built in "self-test" mode (and other possibles) which can switch to battery on a schedule. Your issue appears to be weekly. Could be the nas sees the power switch as something else and messes up it's scheduling. If the ups has a data connection to something else it might be worth investigating using the APC Powerchute software (free) and checking/modifying the settings on the UPS.

It's a Smart-UPS 750 that I probably bought in 2007 and is on its fourth set of batteries.
The UPS is not configured on the NAS as the USB is not connected to it.
I've enabled debug logging but I don't think it will show much if the NAS does not power on.

Well, that involved finding a USB2 cable and the only one to hand was only 0.5m so a bit of a stretch to the nearest PC. The UPS is set to self-test every 14 days so I don't think that's the problem. I'm pretty sure looking at the UPS is a complete red herring.

We released a newer version viewtopic.php?t=10071
You may update it and keep observing if the issue still persists.
About debug logs, you need to start NAS manually to enter TOS, then send the logs to our support email for analysis
