Greetings everyone.

I admit I haven't read the entire thread about security updates, only the latest posts. My apologies.

I only have one question about installing TOS7: I don't like installing beta operating systems. As a consumer, I prefer to wait as long as it takes to have a finished, final product. My question, after reading the latest posts, is: will it be possible to update to the final version of TOS7 from TOS6, or will I have to install a beta version first?

Current experience is that there will be a direct update from TOS6 to TOS7 once released

Once a stable TOS 7 build has been designated, the system update within TOS should pull that build, plus the thread for the stable build in this community forum will typically have the .bz2 update available for download within their official post.

For a clean install from the initboot environment (which itself might require an update, which should occur automatically if the TNAS can reach the Internet), the online installation option should pull that stable TOS 7 build from TerraMaster servers; if you want to use manual install, the .ins image should become a downloadable through https://support.terra-master.com/download for your particular TNAS model.

As TOS7 is now officially released, Will TOS6 be maintained in the near future with new features or security updates? Or this release (6.0.794) will be the last one?

any reason why you would want to stick to TOS6? i thought all devices that were capable of TOS6 are cable of TOS7?

Hello, is not that I want to stick with TOS6, but some devices (as the F4-424 Pro) may need some extra kernel or drivers customization (e.g. ASM1062/PCI AER loggin issues).

I really want to upgrade to TOS7 on all my devices, but If TOS6 is going to be supported a bit more I won't need to rush.
