Another mysterious issue: Left F2-221 running for a few days with only auto power-off and power-on plus TFM backup scheduled to run. Last success was April 30th.
Noticed this evening that auto power-off did not function. No response from web browser. No response from hdmi console (output or input) [Ctrl/Alt/Del], no email notifications. Device appeared to be visible in TNAS-PC but could not login. TNAS-PC requested new IP - Non functional. Had to resort to long-power-off from panel. Wake-on-lan non-functional. System Report prepared & will take a look tomorrow.
(System restart from power switch appears ok.)

You could try restarting the device to see if it responds. Alternatively, you could attempt a cold boot (starting the device without loading any disks during initialization) to confirm whether the device can be detected or found.

I said that already, thanks.
I'm letting it wait until the auto start/stop + TFM backup tasks should have run to see what transpires. Since these are the only tasks entrusted to this machine it just seems odd. Nothing obvious in the system reports downloaded after the restart.

I confirm the presence of this issue. When creating a system backup, all users are deleted. After rebooting, it is impossible to log in to the system. However, if you do not log out after creating the backup and perform a system reset, the system resets normally. System configuration recovery proceeds without issues.
Terramaster f4-424 max TOS 6.0.673
Sorry for the issue you are experiencing. We have reproduced the situation and are actively working to resolve it. Thank you for informing us.
If you could somehow warn the community about this, it would prevent a lot of system backups and nuisance, for a backup is one of the first actions that is done after an update? Now we have to go to a long thread in order to find out.

Might be an IP issue and/or failure to see DHCP. If you run TNAS-{MOBILE|PC} do you see your nas listed and what IP(s)?

I have an F4-423, TOS 6.0.673 and only have 1 lan connection but have experienced the same problem when trying to carry out a "System> Configuration> Back up System Configuration".
The Users disappear, Control Panel >User> is empty, and User Groups vanish but I still have access to my folders, Agent DVR runs normally in Docker and can I SSH into the TNAS until I log out of the unit.
However on logging out/rebooting could not log in with TNAS PC or Mobile or via a browser link
http://192.168.xx.xx:8181/tos/#/desktop. If I did get the log in screen it said user did not exist or the browser brought up an nginx error. When using Putty to SSH into the unit the user folder is still there but all the folders within it are missing. Agent DVR would not restart.
After following Method B on viewtopic.php?f=75&t=423 to reinstall the system access is restored and when I view the user folder all the files are again visible and Agent DVR starts up normally in Docker.
I did not know what was causing the problem until I read these posts as I have been away for the last week.
I must have gone through this process half a dozen times as I did not know what was causing the Users to disappear. Having stayed away from Backup configuration all appears stable.

DHCP on my LAN is working fine and the TNAS has the correct IP's and I can access the TOS OS over the local network. The issue, as I mentioned, is WAN and internet access. In the menu dashboard it displays intermittently WAN is discconeced in Red. This wasn't an issue prior to updating TOS to current.

That symptom has also been seen with a dysfunctional VPN.
