Regarding the hard drive sleep mode, support instructed me to send in my log files, which I did. These showed that I had two system hard drives. Following support's instructions, I deleted one of them, leaving only one system hard drive. However, neither NAS device is entering sleep mode.

Wait this going to be final version soon when TOS7 deletes entire partitions, messes up file conversions? I lost tons of files during this beta process and it broke SMB/SFTP access. Is it because you're too focused on stuffing TOS 7 with AI slop?

That's brave considering the faults we're still finding here.

It's also brave considering the imminent release of Synology latest software (7.4?) built on AI and not needing client Beta testing. {'NAS COMPARES' reviewed this recently.}

Thank you very much for raising this valuable concern, and we especially appreciate the time you took to help us catch this detail. We fully understand your feelings — after waiting so long for TOS 7, you naturally want it to be 100% perfect upon release. We truly empathize with that sentiment.

Regarding the decision to release the official version next week, we'd like to share our internal considerations with you: After evaluation, we found that the issues you reported occur only in specific environments or under rare circumstances, and they do not affect the core functionality (such as storage, transfer, data security, etc.) for the vast majority of users in daily use. At the same time, we are already validating the issues you raised, and we believe they will be resolved quickly with a subsequent update.

Therefore, we have adopted a 'dual-track' strategy: releasing the official version next week to allow users to experience the new architecture, while for feedback like yours that has already been verified, we will release an update as soon as possible after the official launch to address them.

Nevertheless, Synology also offers the option to test the OS in advance as a beta tester and provide feedback. Synology just doesn't advertise this very prominently to attract beta testers. And let's not forget that the latest DSM versions were more of a step backward than a step forward, since features were simply removed.

Правильные мысли транслируешь, дружище. Спасибо!
Действительно, пользователем нужна надёжность, а не игрушка для самостоятельного выявления багов ИИ. Может стоило бы прислушаться к пользователям?

Please double check if your SMB/FTP service is not enabled.
At the same time you can generate system log and send to support email for analysis

"It seems that the release version of TOS still hasn’t implemented proper booting from a USB drive. For me, this has become the main obstacle to upgrading to TOS 7. In addition, file permission inheritance in TOS 6 is terribly implemented. I think I will have to completely abandon TOS."
