My device just restarted on its own, several hours after the update to 4.2.30. I'm not sure if this is related to the 4.2.30 update but I've never had that happen with prior TOS versions. Has anyone else experienced a random reboot of your TNAS after this update?

This is particularly concerning as I have 7 critical shares that have to be online for certain services on other servers to operate correctly. I also have these 7 shares encrypted so when the TNAS restarts I have to manually enter the decryption keys in order for each share to mount.

Are there any plans to automate the process of mounting encrypted shares? Usually the keys would be stored in a TPM and the OS would read them form the TPM and decrypt the share or volume. That's how it works in Windows, not sure how that would be automated in TOS. It is unlikely this device has a TPM chip.

@penright: Donthe Update to 4.2.18 first, then 4.2.30. This should work.

Please try to update to TOS 4.2.18 manually first, then update to TOS 4.2.30.

I'm having a similar problem. I tell it to update, it downloads, and then asks if i want to continue (with notes/warnings) and when I hit confirm, it does nothing.

I don't see a 4.2.18 listed for my F5-221. Should I try applying 4.2.30 manually? I see 4.2.09, 4.2.27, and 4.2.28 available.

If the most recent update doesn't work you can always try the updates between it and go higher and higher. I often heard that you should update to 4.2.18 and then the ones above (also offoclas from TerraMaster posted that here). I for one installed every update right after release on my F2-210 and F2-422, with only minor problems.

I am currently on an old version (4.1.31). What is the update path to 4.2.30? The guide says you have to be 4.2.01 at least, but the link only goes up to 4.1.31. Which version(s) do I need to install before I can go to 4.2.30?

I don't think you understand. The guide I mentioned and that you linked (the same guide) says to update to 4.1.31, but the update here says you need to be on 4.2.01 at least to get to 4.2.30. What path do I need to take to get from 4.1.31 to 4.2.01 so I can eventually get to 4.2.30? Your guide does not go past 4.1.31 and appears to need to be updated.
