Your milage will vary. Method B did not work for me at all and made it worse. I wouldn't risk it. They even say there is a chance of data loss.

I had the network issue after installing the update, and reinstalling the OS was the only option as I couldn't access my F4-424 Max NAS. All my data is intact and my docker images are still opperating since enabling docker after the install.

Can I ask: did you also remove your NVMe SSDs when performing Method B for the TOS reinstall?
And if so, did you reinsert them while the NAS was powered on (hot plug), or only after shutting it down?

Honestly, I’m completely lost at this point. I don’t know if TerraMaster will offer a real solution — there’s no clear communication, and I have no idea where to find official information.
It really feels like we’ve been left on our own.

Honestly, I’m completely lost at this point. I don’t know if TerraMaster will offer a real solution — there’s no clear communication, and I have no idea where to find official information.

I left my NVMe SSDs in the NAS and followed this procedure.

1. Shut down the NAS using power button by tapping it once and waiting for power to go off which allows any caching data to be written to the disk.
2. Eject the HD caddy's, but don't remove them fully, as putting them back in the wrong order will cause data curruption.
3. Remove any LAN cables.
4. Power on system and give it a couple of minutes to boot.
5. Plug in LAN cables and wait for the lights to come on.
6. Push all the HD caddy's back into place and give it a minute for the drives to spin up.
7. Use TNAS PC/MAC app to set your ip address.
8. Open the NAS in your browser and follow the Initialization wizard.

My system partitions are not on my NVME's and this worked for my NAS as initializing wizard only writes to the system partitions in my experience which is more than once with this device and on all occasions my data has been intact. Luckly for me everything is back to normal and at least the re-install, installs version .750 which caused us all our problems with no issues.

When you say not to mix up the order, are you referring to the physical order of the drives from bay 1 to 6?

When reinserting the drives, how much time should I wait between inserting each one to avoid any risk of error or corruption?

Also, just out of curiosity — are you using the M.2 SSDs for Hyper Cache?

Your correct you don't want to mix up the the physical order of the drives, so leave them in the slots.

Just push them all in one after the other, and give them a minute after you've plugged the last one in.

Also, just out of curiosity — are you using the M.2 SSDs for Hyper Cache?

No I'm not using the M.2 SSDs for Hyper Cache but normally if your cache is read/write cache, shutting down the device using the power button rather than the just pulling the plug is safer as all the data waiting to be written should be flushed. If it's a read only cache it should be rebuilt after the new install completes and you start using it again.
