I have the problem that as soon as I mount an ext4 HDD, the system crashes after 1-2 minutes and is no longer accessible. If I don't mount an ext4 HDD, it runs stable.
There are a lot of films on the HDD. I don't know if that helps.
I tested it on an F4-223 and an F4-424.

All those rushing to upgrade to TOS 6, TOS6 has some serious samba issues with small files, I'd be waiting till that's fixed before rushing to upgrade.. I wish I could run TOS5 but that's impossible on an F8 SSD.. Could just be issues with the NIC in the F8 but who knows. TOS 5 runs well on my F5-422

would you describ the issue by details?

I have asked this before in other threads with no answers.
To be fair, there have been plenty of answers to several users. "Wait for the instructions to be released" or words to that effect. I'm getting tired of people asking the same question over and over and ignoring the answers.
The problem is not people ignoring the answers. The problem is that the answers are unsatisfying and to a certain extent ignorant. So yes, if given a "go away" answer, then I fully understand people (including myself) asking over and over again.
In my case, I seem to have missed a certain Beta release, and I am now stuck on an early Beta version, without any option to upgrade to recent versions, so a solution should be easy (send a link to the missing release).
Beta testers are contributing time and effort without being rewarded, so the least a company could do would be to support them.

Have a look here:
TerraMaster F4-424 Max im Test: Das günstigste NAS mit zwei 10-Gigabit-Anschlüssen
In this section
Dateitransfer, it explicitly states (translating from German):
"When writing and reading a
single large file, the F4-424 Max from TerraMaster
can keep up well and is on a par with a DXP6800 Pro from Ugreen. However, this
changes significantly when it comes to transferring the 15 GB folder with 4,000 files. The write performance in particular is very low, but the read performance is also clearly too slow and there is no sign of the 10 Gigabit Ethernet.
The F4-424 Max is even lower than the F4-424 Pro with 2.5 GbE.
After ComputerBase initially looked for the error in its own test system - but resetting the NAS and also replacing it by another device was unsuccessful - an inquiry to TerraMaster provided the solution:
Yes, the problem is known and the measured values are correct. TerraMaster states they are working on a solution."
Throughput Measurement: SMB Copy 15GB Folder Copy with 4000 files
Please note that I am in no way affiliated/related to computerbase.de - I rather own a F4-424 Max myself, so am also affected by this issue and also looking for information on the net why copying many small/mid size files through SMB is so slow - and ran across the above article...
So
@TMRoy, can you please forward/ask this question to TerraMaster development and then provide more details about the issue and an estimated date of arrival for the fix here?
Many thanks!

Would you be so kind as to add, like I politely asked for, some
more details about the issue (is it due to the NIC, the new kernel in TOS6, the Samba version etc., and provide some
more concrete ETA than "soon" [equivalent to the "Greek Calends"!?])?
Sorry for insisting on a little more information on it & thanks for your understanding...

I quite agree. Beta 6.0 was released, since seen two production releases, and we've been told to stand by since July. It's almost November. If you're not going to deliver for the F4-423, I would prefer a formal recommendation to move along to another OS or platform. Discount season is upon us.

My problem was resolved - not by TM support, that is - by someone who provided a 6.0.4xx package, which from then on updated itself to 6.0.519. I am seriously considering moving on to TrueNAS/Unraid/DSM now.
