I've logged a support ticket with Terra Master - support(a)terra-master.com and also with Highpoint-tech who make the Raid controller:

After update from Catalina to Big Sur, please try to re-install the RAID driver and RAID manager pro on your MAC.

I can confirm the same on my D4, working flawlessly, then upgrade to Big Sur last night and now failing, we need this fixed ASAP and disapointed that nobody tested this with any of the betas over the past 3 months
For new customer, the newly purchased D4/D5 Thunderbolt 3 can be configured and work well on Big Sur. BUT for those who has been using the device on Catalina for a while, this could be a challenge. If you found your D4/D5 RAID system does not support by Big Sur, please try to re-install the RAID driver and RAID manager pro. If that still failed, you may have to rebuild your RAID on Big Sur, that means you will lose your data, please backup your data before you do that.
One thing need to be clear, if a device has been well set on Catalina and working well on Catalina, but Big Sur does not support it, this is Big Sur problem, not the device's problem!

By the way, when your D4 failed on Big Sur, what message prompt to you? may I have more specifics how it failed?

When it fails I get the following message, I have tried reinstalling the driver and the raid pro manager. It isn't always the same drives, the drive or drives that fail is random.
2020/11/14 11:0:22 Array 'Storage' rebuilding failed.
2020/11/14 10:25:31 Array 'Storage' rebuilding started.
2020/11/14 10:22:37 Disk 'ST4000VN008-2DR166-ZGY720H4' at RAID 1-Channel2 failed.
2020/11/14 10:22:37 Disk 'ST4000VN008-2DR166-ZGY720B9' at RAID 1-Channel5 failed.

As a follow up to this, I have found that if it keeps failing, if you keep powering off and back on the Terra Master until it completes it's rebuild process, mine took 2 1/2 days, it will then reset it's status to normal and operate correctly.

I spoke too soon, after about 2 hours it failed again, and started the rebuild process at 0%, so yeah we need to find a fix for this

The
https://www.highpoint-tech.com/websupport/ are looking into this too.
Hello,
Sorry for the inconvenience, currently our testing department is actively testing the driver, I will add you to our test customer database, if there is any news, I will notify you as soon as possible
Thank you
I've installed the current drivers as suggested by TerraMaster. My D5 thunderbolt has been slowly rebuilding the array doing 1% per day, failing and restarting it each time.

All, the HighPoint RR team have released the new driver and the installation guide. I've added it to dropbox to download it for testing as it was posted in my support ticket.

It's important to follow the instructions as it depends on your mac if it has the T2 chip.
Will be testing it later today.
