F2-210 Not bootup

Post by befung »

Please help, my F2-210 is not able to boot. This afternoon, tried to connect the TNAS but not responding. Checked the box, nothing special, all lights were green. Pressed the on/off button to hard reboot. The box came back with all green lights on but no "boot" sound. The network cable light on the back was not flashing but stay green, very abnormal. Tried to ping it from a PC, timeout. I have installed only one harddrive, which is Seagate IronWolf NAS 8G. Please help!

You should check the network, check whether the network cable is plugged in tightly or try to use another network cable to connect.

Thanks for quick response. I checked the cable, which connected directly to the router and it connected tightly on both sides. The TNAS has been running no problem since the day one which is about only few months old. Please help. Are there a way to reset the box? Thanks.

Do you have a way to try another network cable?
Or connect this network cable to other places to see if this network cable can be used normally.
You can try to unplug the network cable and plug it in again and turn it on.

Yes, I did. I have a brand new cat5 cable, which is proven to be working. Now I could not even able to turn off the box with the on/off button but only unplugged the power cable to shut it down. I even tried to take out the hard drive and restarted the box but still not boot up.

When you plug in the network cable, don't the two lights on the side of the network cable flash?

Only one green light stays on and not flashing.
Also, very strange on the front panel is showing 2 green lights on, which seems indicating there are 2 hard drives but I have only one hard drive inserted in slot 1.

What operations have you performed before unable to access? Such as updating the system.
You can refer to the following: viewtopic.php?f=75&t=696

I have done nothing. I just noticed that when I couldn't connect it since this afternoon.
So, I'll try to re-image the NAS using the instruction from the viewtopic.php?f=75&t=696.

1. Download the following file:
Link for 1G model: http://dl.terra-master.com/cn/firmware.img
Link for 2G model: http://dl.terra-master.com/en/firmware.img
2. Prepare an USB flash drive and format it to FAT file system.
3. Copy the firmware.img file to the USB flash drive.

Is my F2-210 1G or 2G model?

In #3, copy the firmware.img file to the USB, does it mean to write the img to the USB to make it bootable USB drive or just simple copy the file to the USB? Please advise.

Thanks.
