F2-221
4.2.08
This just started today. No issues previously.
When I tried to map folders on the TNAS for a rarely used computer on my home network, my admin credentials were rejected and received an error message that the drive was in use by another user. No other users were on the network at the time, just the one computer and the TNAS.
I gave up trying to map a drive for that computer and shut it down. Went back to my usual desktop Win10 machine and I could see all of my usual mapped drives on the TNAS and the console said everything was operating effectively with low consumption. I tried to create a new shared folder using the TNAS File Manager and it gave me an operation failed message. I went to the desktop machine and tried to create a folder in an existing share and it gave me a "catastrophic error" message.
At this time, I cannot add any new files to the TNAS. I can see all of the folders from the Win10 machine and can properly open files so my data still exists, I just can't add anything. I ran the file system (BTRFS) and SMART checks and everything comes back good.
Why can't I add or move any files to TNAS. Same occurs if I log in as admin or a privileged user.
Please point me where to resolve this.
Cannot Create Files On Server Or Copy to Server
Re: Cannot Create Files On Server Or Copy to Server
Hi,
It indicates that the drive is used by other users. Maybe the drive letter conflicts. You can choose another drive letter for mapping.
Cannot create a new folder in the shared folder should be that the user has only read-only permissions, you can go to the control panel shared folder to edit the permissions of the shared folder or go to the user in the control panel to check the user's permissions.

Sorry, no. I am the admin and have been had the same drive letters mapped to the TNAS since the first day it was installed over a year ago. One other user on the system has different drive letters and that computer is offline.

Sorry, not the case. I am the admin and have 100% read write privilege on every folder on the TNAS. I checked. Again, the user privileges have not been changed on any account since the system was installed. As I said in the above post, even logged into the TNAS console and using the the TNAS File Manager, I cannot add a new share with full privileges or add a file to any file whatsoever. I can only delete files. How can I delete if I have no permissions?

Re: Cannot Create Files On Server Or Copy to Server
Hi,
When you say that the computer is offline, does it mean that the TNAS is directly connected to your computer?
Then you use another computer to map it?
If there is no network or no direct connection, you will not be able to map. Is the administrator account you logged in as admin?
Is it possible to let our engineer check it remotely? You can send an email to our tech team .

Re: Cannot Create Files On Server Or Copy to Server
I have submitted a support file to the support email account.
When I say offline, I mean that there are no computers with network access to the TNAS except for the pc running the admin console. The TNAS and the one online pc are both hard wired to the same router on the same named LAN. Even the admin console cannot create a new folder (and I discovered this morning that the admin can create a new user account but the new user account cannot be logged into).
This is the error when trying to create a new folder in an existing shared folder.

Re: Cannot Create Files On Server Or Copy to Server
As reported on another thread and through email to support, I need a return authorization for my F2-221. The issues progressed to complete failure of the server. Cannot reinstall TOS because it is totally unresponsive on the network even after removing the drives and attempting a complete install from scratch.
I am reaching out on this forum as well because I haven't received a response from support.

Re: Cannot Create Files On Server Or Copy to Server
Hi,
Did you send the email on 2021.3.1 or 2021.3.2?
We have not received a similar email from you.
You can send an email to our support team again: viewtopic.php?f=75&t=608
Our technical team will find a way to solve this problem for you.
If you bought it on Amazon, you do not need our authorization to apply for a return.

Doris from your support has responded and scheduled a session.

Really? Even though it is outside of the Amazon return time? It is within the Terramaster 2 year warranty.

Re: Cannot Create Files On Server Or Copy to Server
Had a teamviewer session with tech support last night. They had me disassemble the f2-221, remove the battery and short the battery terminals in order to clear the cmos memory. Reassembled but no improvement.
Also connected an hdmi monitor which showed that "boot from init" never progressed.
The unit is going to get replaced under warranty.
