TOS is not detecting volume

Post by mattb »

Hi,

My NAS stopped working overnight, the operating system seemed to have failed to update or something. But, I couldn't restore the operating system without it saying I need to create a new volume. So, I added a second drive to install TOS onto. But now, TOS is not detecting the volume on my original hard disk.

I have two hard disks: HDD1 and HDD2. HDD2 has the operating system now, and HDD1 is the original drive that has my data.

I have Storage Pool #1, which is attached to HDD1,, and Storage Pool #2 which is HDD2. Both show as "good"

But, only Volume #2 attached to Storage Pool #2 and HDD2 is visible in TOS.

Based on another post, I went to Control Panel/Priveledge/Shared Folder/Advanced to restore shared folders, but only volume #2 appears there.

Can anyone please advise on how to recover my data?

Thank you.

I'm using an F2-210 with TOS 4.1.32

Matt.

Hi,
Have your original HDD1 set up RAID?
Is it possible to let our engineer check it remotely? You can send an email to our tech team to confirm it.

Thank you for replying.

Hdd1 has only ever operated as a single drive but the partitions, when I run lsblk, look like they are RAID.

The hard drive is reporting as healthy.

If removing in is the best bet, I will send an email through?

Hi mattb,

Does it work to restart the device when both disks are inserted?
