[Help] TNAS Mobile not finding NAS on iPad OS27. But OK on iPhone OS27  [SOLVED]

Post by tnaspain »

Mobile app v3.5.088 (TNAS Mobile) works OK on new iPhone with latest OS27

But on new iPad with same OS, when app is trying to scan network for the TNAS, I get a mesage "No TNAS Devices Found Yet!", even if I scan local network as second step.
If I put in the IP address (with or without the https://.... and with or without the :XXXX port number, and then user name, and password manually, still ipad can not see NAS.
Rebooted ipad, latest OS27, but nogo.

Why does this work on iPhone, but not on iPad?
Bug of some sort that TerraMaster has not sorted out with OS27?

PROBLEM SOLVED!
After uninstalling and reinstalling the TNAS Mobile app, a popup came up with a geographical map, and asked permission to look for NAS on local network. I said yes, and it immediately found the NAS on the network.

Seems like an unneccesary bottleneck to have to give it permission to look for a TNAS on a LAN which the iPad and NAS are already a part of.

Glad to hear the issue is resolved!

Regarding the permission prompt you encountered: this is actually a mandatory privacy and security policy enforced by Apple's iOS / iPadOS. Apple requires all apps to obtain explicit user authorization for "Local Network" access before they can broadcast, scan, or communicate with other devices on your LAN. If this permission is not granted (or is disabled), the operating system will block the app from discovering devices on the subnet, even though your iPad and NAS are connected to the same local network.

Reinstalling the app effectively resets the system permissions prompt, allowing you to grant access properly.

Thank you very much for sharing your solution and experience—this will be very helpful to other community members encountering similar situations!
