Watchtower setup for Docker auto updates

Post by samw5 »

I just upgraded to TOS 7 and my watchtower container no longer seems to be working.
I used the following guide https://tmnascommunity.eu/download/watchtower/
Not sure if anything needs to be tweaked for the new OS but would love to get that working again :(

According to community Tips, the web frontend for community apps still needs PHP to run. Since the latest stable TOS 7 no longer ships with PHP binaries, you'll need to install PHP 7.4 from the App Center if you're getting a 502 Bad Gateway error.

If your issue is something else, please share the symptoms and error messages you're seeing.

Ended up adding - DOCKER_API_VERSION=1.54 to the YML config file. that seems to at least allow the container to start. I'll have to see IF the updates are properly going thru.

Sry, I am new to this forum...are you really asking to install PHP 7.4 which has reached its end-of-life almost four (4!) years ago and where the web is full of warnings to never ever use this version anymore because of security reasons?

Please read the earlier post from Forum Support again. The PHP7.4 relates to COMMUNITY apps. These are not provided by Terramaster, rather by independent developer(s). TM are providing a direct PHP installation to enable those apps affected to be able to continue working. At some point it may not be necessary but until the developer(s) can fix things - which is well noted on the community site - you will have to be content with the way things are.
I'll tip my hat to the community developer(s) who do this stuff out of the goodness of their heart(s), because I'm sure not many people contribute enough to the effort.
And I don't use the Community Apps at all.

Many thanks or the explanation, but my comment wasn't meant as a criticism of the community developers, I had viewed the web front end for community apps as part of TOS 7.
By the way, I pay for open-source software that I use regularly.

For whatever it's worth, i was just able to get it working by adding the api line in the yml file, nothing with PHP.
