Apology for Storage Manager App Update Issue

Post by RyanYang »

Dear Valued Users,

Recently, a small number of TOS 7 users have reported update failures when updating the [Storage Manager] app to version 1.0.043 or 1.0.053.We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this issue has caused. Upon receiving your feedback, our technical team immediately launched an investigation and took corrective actions. The relevant details are as follows:

一. Root Cause
This anomaly was caused by a configuration defect in the update process parameters of the App Center, which, under specific operating environments, could trigger update failures.

二. Emergency Response Measures
1. We have temporarily suspended the push of the [Storage Manager] app update package to prevent more users from encountering the same issue.
2. If you have already experienced a failed update of the Storage Manager app, please contact our official after-sales technical support team for remote assistance to resolve the issue.
3. We will soon release a new version of TOS 7, which will completely fix the update anomaly of the [Storage Manager] app in the App Center.

Once again, we sincerely apologize to all TerraMaster users. Going forward, we will further improve our version testing procedures and strictly control the quality of every app iteration. If you encounter any other issues during use, please feel free to contact our official customer service, and we will provide you with prompt support.

If you are experiencing an issue where the update gets stuck, please open the Terminal from the top navigation bar of the TOS desktop, then run the following commands one by one to reinstall Storage Manager:

Code: Select all

systemctl stop StorageManager.service
dpkg --purge storagemanager
cd /
wget https://download2.terra-master.com/storagemanager_1.0.054_amd64.deb
dpkg -i storagemanager_1.0.054_amd64.deb
rm -rf storagemanager_1.0.054_amd64.deb
/etc/tos/scripts/mntdata
After the commands have finished executing, please refresh the web page and check whether Storage Manager has returned to normal.

If any command returns an error during the process, please take a screenshot of the complete terminal output or copy and send it to us. We will further analyze the issue and assist you with the next steps.

Hello everyone,

I’d like to thank you for your quick help. At first glance, it seems to be working again after I ran the commands.

Thanks :-)
