223/423 Models Can't set the boot sequence in Bios, but only boot from the TOS disk?

I figured that this thread is the closest to what I'm experiencing. I have an f4-423. I can't get the monitor to show the boot bios screen. I'm pretty sure that it is going into bios because if I tap the delete or escape, it will not continue the boot sequence and never get the 3 beeps. If I don't hit delete, it loads tos6 with no problem.

I have used 2 separate monitors and neither one picks up a signal. I know it's connected to the right cord because if I pull out the hdmi, the monitor screen flashes back to no signal.

I have gone all the way back to factory reset and built it back up to try to get this to work. Am I missing something? Is the hdmi port bad?

Beyond its use for BIOS display, the HDMI output of the NAS can also function as a terminal interface, providing system information during both the boot process and normal operation.

We suggest booting the NAS with an HDMI display connected. Under standard conditions, the complete TOS 6 loading process should be visible on the attached monitor.

Thanks for the info. I have tried it with the hdmi at initialization and after tos 6 loads properly. I can access tos 6 right now and there is no screen on boot up. Like I said above, I have tried 2 monitors and 2 attempts to start from scratch and build up checking every time I would need to boot it up.

I just don't get it.

Please try unplugging the power first, connect the HDMI, then plug the power back in. Then start the NAS again.

If you've been using the same HDMI cable for both monitors, we recommend swapping it out to rule out a faulty or incompatible cable.
Are the two monitors different brands or models?

And just to double-check — can you see absolutely nothing on the HDMI screen, not even the TerraMaster logo?

There was an issue with HDMI display on the 223/423 models that wasn't resolved until TOS7. You might want to consider upgrading to TOS7 and trying again.

Sorry, I was away for work. I tried 2 different monitors and a tv. It is running tos6 no problem right now and if I was to restart it normally with the hdmi cable plugged in, there is no output sent to the monitor. No signal detected or no signal found. I have tried it a lot of different ways and I have been in the bios screen before having had this particular model for 3 years now.

My raid array and backups are fine so I can wipe it, do a factory reset, whatever to get it working.

This appears to be a hardware failure. If the device is still under warranty, you may consider contacting the seller or the relevant after‑sales support channel.
