[Bug] TOS7 Benchmark write performance not available

Post by peteru »

Brand new F4-424 Pro with TOS 7.0.0780.

Four HDDs installed, they are completely blank (zeros on the entire drive, on all four) and have not been set up yet.

I'm trying to use Storage Manager Benchmark mode. The Benchmark runs, but only reports the read performance. The write performance section remains blank.

The (i) pop up says that "Disks that have been added to the RAID can only perform read benchmark tests, not write benchmark tests." , which means that I should be able to get write results, since the disks are not in RAID use.

Benchmark test for read operations can be performed on all devices;

However, to conduct write performance testing, the disk must meet the following criteria:

1. The disk is completely unused and unmounted.
2. It has a single partition formatted with a file system recognized by the system (e.g., BTRFS, EXT4, etc.).

Write testing can be performed once these requirements are met.

In your case, the disk lacks a partition with a system-recognized file system; therefore, write performance testing is not supported.
