Is there a manual download for this update?

It seems that there is always someone who wants to know if there is a manual download for a new release.

How to create a manual download for a new release (Tongue firmly in cheek :) )

Go to Control Panel > System > Update
You will see the advice of a new release.
'Click' Download (NOT Download and update!)
This will download the new release to a default folder in Volume1.
Open Terminal as the admin super-user:

Code: Select all

cd ~
cp /Volume1/.update*/*.* .
This will copy the update .bz2 file to the admin super-user home folder. (~ == tilde short-cut)
You can then re-copy that .bz2 file to a local computer (or anywhere else you care to.)

I try to do this every time I see a new release (except for those I believe are "broken") so
1. I have the historical record.
2. It makes it slightly easier to do off-line updates on multiple machines.

Please do not ask me for copies.

"Is there a manual download for this update?"

Sorry
This Terramaster F8 SSD Plus is connected to an internal network and is not connected to the Internet.

I think I have the same problem :-) However, I’ve found a solution to the long-standing issue. I close the browser tab for the TOS 7 Desktop and open a new one immediately. Therefore, I believe it’s more of a display/refresh problem than a real bug.
Model: F2-424 with TOS 7.0.0777 Bios V08
you can discuss with me in French, German and English

You're right! I check in terminal and docker showed as running and active. Did the close and open a new tab fixed the issue.

In this version, we fixed the system disk hibernation function. Is the hard drive you mentioned that cannot hibernate the system disk?
No, a hard drive that doesn't go into sleep mode isn't a system drive. The system runs on a completely separate NVMe drive. Hard drives are used solely for data storage and are not currently being used by anything.

You may need to consider the practicalities of what you system is doing. I have one nas with the system disk on nvme (along with Volume1) and I can assure you that the hdd do go into sleep mode (if I select that mode) BUT as soon as I access the web GUI the hdd will start up - I have very old, noisy drives and it can be quite spectacular in a dark quiet room! On the other hand I have systems with remote drives connected and you can never be sure when they might start. Another scenario is I have cctv cameras sending images over FTP every few seconds - those hdd don't sleep (and they should possibly be replaced with cctv spec drives).
