No problem, since you have already mentioned that you have no HDD in your post. By the way, congrats on the game vs Paraguay. Looking forward to your team on the final game.FredMutter wrote: ↑05 Jul 2026, 22:30in the past I moved from ext4 to btrfs and back to ext4 (I was really disappointed from btrfs).apvm wrote: ↑05 Jul 2026, 21:56
Thank you, I did the TOS 7 update and it was successful and it asked me to allow the system run a permission conversion process and suggest not to access the files during the process. after two hours it is still working, my hdd volume is about 24TB, just don't know how long it will take. Wondering if anyone here have experience with this.
Using ext4 I didn't have any request to convert file permissions.
So my update from TOS6 to TOS7 took only 5 minutes.

Morocco will look bad too. Anyway, everything is done include updating to 0765, not sure if I should update the bios. Will think about that since i only have a usb keyboard but no usb c drive, may need to buy an usb hub to do that . Thanks again for the tips.FredMutter wrote: ↑05 Jul 2026, 23:15![]()

I used a simple SD Card with an usb Adapter to update the bios.
as I wrote I nearly don’t hear the fan during an heavy photo import since the update

After install of 7, jellyfin and plex don't work, as far as being able to play any movies. When I press play plex says something about can't find files, and jellyfin says something about transcoder error. I suspect some permission error, albeit the files are rwxrwxrwx. the files are definitely there. During upgrade there was some option about manual vs something permissions fix... I picked manual because I don't have special permissions requirements, but I don't know if this means I'm supposed to do something now or what.

BTW, I can see more options in shared folder permissions... it lists application users there... I suspect I'm supposed to do something here? grant permission to jellyfin and plex maybe? Although I see plex runs as a plex user and jellyfin runs as the root user, so.. I'm not sure how that plays into it.

Which one do you have, I have the basic F4-424 with two nvme ssd as system and app disk, updated to TOS 7 and its latest update, no problem with Plex, Jellyfin and Tailscale, even checked Jellyfin and Tailscale when I had lunch outside, no problem. While updating no question asked except after updated to TOS 7 it asked me to do a "permission conversion process" it took about 4 hours and then I upgrade TOS 7 to latest version. I'll see if there will be any problem, don't have time to check yet, only tested Plex and Jellyfin.xpusostomos wrote: ↑06 Jul 2026, 00:49 BTW, I can see more options in shared folder permissions... it lists application users there... Why don't system updates just update the BIOS? V8 BIOS and mine is up to date on V5. Seems lame.

I went into permissions and gave jellyfin, jellyfin app permissions and plex, plex app permissions on my F6-424 max, and that fixed it.apvm wrote: ↑06 Jul 2026, 03:54Which one do you have, I have the basic F4-424 with two nvme ssd as system and app disk, updated to TOS 7 and its latest update, no problem with Plex, Jellyfin and Tailscale, even checked Jellyfin and Tailscale when I had lunch outside, no problem. Re: How to Properly Install and Use TOS 7 on the 424 Series TNAS
Thank you for the update. Since TOS 7 introduces a new permission management system, permissions must be converted upon upgrading. We recommend selecting "Auto-Convert" to prevent such issues.
