[Help] No boot after removing Hyper Cache!!!

Hi, I have the F4 423 with 4 HDD and 1 SSD as Hyper Cache.

After deleting the hyper cache and removing the SSD, my NAS stucks at the boot logo!!!

- I went to the disk Management (or something like that) where it shows which drive is being used as hyper cache. I selected it and you can delete it. It showed some message and started deleting it for some time and when it finished, it disappeared. I then refreshed to see if that hyper cache drive disappeared. It did.
- then I turned off the device and removed the SSD.
- I installed SSD in an external box and deleted the volume to use that drive for something else
- the NAS turns on, makes the first "bip" but then it doesn't boot (at least completely) as it is not accessible nor makes the second "bip" from being totally loaded. The OS was on the HDD.
- when I connect the NAS to a monitor and keyboard, it only shows the BIOS logo, it is stuck there, it doesn't go to the BIOS (I tried del, esc and F8)

My question is towards why did I delete the hyper cache and refreshed to be sure that that was deleted... and without the drive it won't work... And the SSD isn't usable anymore...

Can someone please help me?!

Just trying to understand, you did delete the Hypercache, but you also said you deleted the Volume on the SSD externally (do you mean you reformatted) ? It sounds like the NAS had a Volume on the SSD it as well. That part is odd, HyperCache doesn't let you use the SSD for anything else.
But you also said the system disk is on the HDD, not on the SSD.

Wait did you go into Storage Manger and then on the left side menu, select HyperCache, to delete the cache from there?

If you can successfully enter the BIOS or see the initialization page in this bare-metal state, the boot deadlock is caused by specific boot sectors on the hard drives or conflicts with external devices.

Step 2: Clear CMOS configuration (reset BIOS NVRAM)

If the device still gets stuck on the logo screen after Step 1, it means the internal hardware mapping in the BIOS has been completely messed up, and you can reset the motherboard NVRAM via physical power cut.
  • Shut down the device and disconnect the power cable.
  • Use a screwdriver to remove the screws on the rear panel of the F4-423 and take off the case, then carefully expose the motherboard.
  • Remove the motherboard, take out the CMOS battery, then use a metal tool like tweezers to short the two poles of the battery for about 5 to 10 seconds.
  • Reinsert the coin battery back into its slot, then reassemble and secure the NAS case.
  • Without inserting any hard drives (bare-metal state), reconnect the power cable and power on the device, then immediately press the Del or Esc keys repeatedly and briefly. The BIOS should now have been restored to factory default settings, which will usually successfully bypass the deadlock and allow you to enter the BIOS interface.
Step 3: Check the internal boot USB drive

If the device still gets stuck on the BIOS logo screen and becomes unresponsive during bare-metal boot after clearing the CMOS, the internal boot USB drive on the motherboard may have become loose or suffered data corruption during the previous unplugging/plugging operations.
  • Remove the NAS case, carefully inspect the motherboard, take out the small USB flash drive from the built-in USB port, and clean the interface.
  • Power on the device again to test if you can enter the BIOS interface.
If you can successfully enter the BIOS after removing the boot USB drive, the issue is likely caused by a corrupted boot USB drive.

It worked. What happened then?
- it all happened when I properly deleted Hypercache, shutdown the NAS F4-423 and removed the SSD. When I turned on the NAS, it didn't do nothing but three first "bio" and all lights were on
- I plugged in a USB keyboard and HDMI to my TV. It showed that the NAS got stuck on the BIOS logo and it even didn't allow to enter the BIOS

What worked?
- turned off the NAS and took the energy cable out
- took the HDDs (mind the order!) out. In fact I did NOT take them really out, just unplugged the HDDs pulling the tray around 2 cm out but stayed in the slot.
- put the cable and turned on, then I pressed ESC or DEL on the keyboard several times
- now it went to the BIOS
- I changed the boot drive order to USB / HDDs / SSD (before it was, I think, SSD/HDD/USB
- saved and exit

It booted normally :mrgreen: 8-) :D
