[Help] Upgraded to TOS 7 VirtualBox not starting

Post by polen »

I upgraded from TOS 6 to TOS 7 (7.0.0601) then to (7.0.0706).

Dummy me installed VMs and OVS and now VirtualBox does not start.

How do I fix this.

I disabled VMs and uninstalled and removed OVS. Also disabled and uninstalled VirtualBox and then installed.

Help,
Thanks,
Greg

Regarding the issue that VirtualBox cannot start after your system upgrade, this is because after the update, the system-maintained files in the root file system will be consistent with the TOS 7 installation package, and some built-in files and tools will be removed. VirtualBox is one of the affected applications. Therefore, if the application fails to open after the update, please go to the App Center to install PHP 7.4 required by this application.

We kindly ask that you thoroughly review the update precautions before proceeding with the system update. The issue you experienced has been explicitly stated in red font within the release notes.

Please be advised that VirtualBox has reached end of life and will no longer be maintained. We strongly recommend migrating your existing virtual machines to VMs at your earliest convenience.
