[Help] Multimedia Server always disabled after reboot

Post by mmalchuk »

F4-423 TOS6.0.794-01324
Multimedia Server 3.2.102 always disabled after reboot. Uncheck/recheck "Enable Multimedia Server" doesn't help.
How to fix the issue?

Regarding the issue you reported about the Multimedia Server being automatically disabled after a reboot, we have conducted multiple tests internally using the same version (TOS 6.0.794), but have not been able to reproduce the issue so far.

To further investigate whether this is caused by a service startup sequence conflict or a specific configuration, we kindly request your assistance in capturing a diagnostic log:

Steps to follow:

1. Go to the Diagnosis module.
2. Check the "Enable log for diagnosis" option.
3. Restart your NAS (ensuring the issue is triggered again).
4. Download the generated log package and send it over to the support team ([email protected])

Important note:
When sending the logs, please be sure to note the exact time when you performed the restart. This will help developers accurately locate system behavior around the time of reboot within the large volume of logs, improving analysis efficiency.

Thank you for your cooperation. We will analyze the logs promptly and provide you with a solution as soon as possible.

It's interesting to get answers on how to investigate an issue myself.

Code: Select all

# systemctl status MultimediaServer.service
● MultimediaServer.service
     Loaded: loaded (/etc/init.d/MultimediaServer; generated)
Active: active (running) since Sat 2026-04-25 22:41:16 MSK; 4min 6s ago
       Docs: man:systemd-sysv-generator(8)
      Tasks: 9 (limit: 38272)
     Memory: 24.9M
        CPU: 271ms
     CGroup: /system.slice/MultimediaServer.service
             └─4749 ../sbin/MultimediaServer

Apr 25 22:41:16 tnas-f4-423 systemd[1]: Starting MultimediaServer.service...
Apr 25 22:41:16 tnas-f4-423 systemd[1]: Started MultimediaServer.service.
At the same time, the checkbox is NOT set and the service doesn't work.
