[Help] F4-223 (TOS 7) does not start automatically

Post by gemini »

Hi, I've noticed for a while now that my F4-223 (TOS 7) doesn't start up automatically when power is restored. I have the NAS connected to the UPS via USB, and it's configured to shut down when the power is about to go out. So far, so good—the NAS shuts down, and I actually receive an email notification that the NAS has switched to battery mode.

However, when the power comes back on, the UPS is powered up again, and it’s as if it isn’t sending that signal to the NAS because it doesn’t turn on automatically.

In the settings, the option to automatically power on the NAS when power is restored is checked. Could this be a bug in TOS 7? Is it incompatible with my model? I have AdguardHome installed in a container—could that be causing a conflict?

Version TOS 7.0.0517 ---- Version BIOS/InitBoot 5.19

I’d like to add that I installed the OS on an NVMe drive, and according to TerraMaster, for this model you had to enter the BIOS (if I remember correctly). Could it be that this feature is incompatible with the OS installed on the M.2 drive?

This issue may be related to the BIOS boot order. You can refer to this post to adjust the boot order:

You can also temporarily remove the internal USB drive of the device and observe whether it can boot normally.

I'm going to try changing the boot order in the BIOS and remove the internal USB drive. I'll run tests again to see what happens.

Thanks for the help! I'll keep you updated on whether the error is fixed or remains the same.
