[Help] TERRAMASTER D4-320 No longer reading driver bay 3

Post by neotremer »

Noticed this morning my Plex was missing content. Went and checked on the DAS, And noticed drive way 3 was just blinking, Not reading blinking. So, I remounted the drive. Nothing changed. Same flashing light on bay 3, Restart the device, Again, Bay 3 just lighting away. So i moved the drive to bay 4, and it mounted right now. Ran a smart check on it, drive checks out. But, Bay 3 light is still blinking away.

Hardware failure maybe? Or does anyone know something i dont.

Thank you.

Based on your description, if it is not caused by improper installation, it is very likely a hardware failure. (Try cleaning the dust?)

Since the drive works fine in another bay and SMART is clean, it does point more toward a backplane or bay controller issue. You could try cleaning contacts and reseating cables, but if bay 3 keeps blinking without a drive issue, it’s likely hardware-related.
