Updating the system will not theoretically affect the data on your hard drives. However, to be safe, you may back up your data in advance.

The update process will completely reset the system partition, resulting in the loss of your previous system configuration, including user settings.

The following link provides detailed update instructions. Please be sure to read it before updating:

Yes.
Yes.
In Control Panel > Overview. Below the pictorial for '/' it will show something like "nn/yy GB"
"yy" is the maximum usable os partition size. (approx 7.41GB) {8GB is nominal partition size.}
Yes, that should be clear from the referenced thread(s).
Presuming you do have the requisite partition size already, then some settings will be lost, permissions will change. Theoretically, snapshots will still exist as they are stored as part of a Volume (data) but over time mechanism's change. {I think I probably deleted any snapshots prior and restarted when upgraded to avoid confusion.} Should be irrelevant since you have backups of important stuff and snapshots are not really backups and only relevant to btrfs.

From the new user interface to enhanced data security, every aspect has been meticulously optimized to provide users with the most advanced storage and management solutions.

For details, please refer to this link: viewtopic.php?t=6809
2. Go to Control Panel > System Overview to check the size of “/”.
3. Your BIOS is MAPL0304V22, which supports upgrading to 6.0.
4. User profiles will be cleared. Which specific module are you referring to when mentioning snapshots? Is it the file system snapshot?

Due to the large version gap between TOS5 and TOS6, upgrading will remove user accounts and their configurations (such as permissions). However, all shared folder data and each user’s personal folder data will not be deleted. Since there are significant differences in permission management between TOS5 and TOS6, it is recommended to recreate users and reconfigure their permissions after upgrading to TOS6.

Installing the system on new hard drives cannot resolve the issue of lost system configuration caused by the upgrade, so this approach is not recommended.
