[Help] TOS 7.0.0398 Removing System Disk?

Post by WasHE »

Hello Guys,

I'm new with the TOS and brave enough to test TOS 7 :)

I have 1 Nvme SSD and 2 HDDs (22 TB and 8 TB) attached to my F2-425 Plus.

I only want my SSD as System Disk and wondering will my data deleted if I remove disk from my HDD 1(22 TB)?

If you ask why, there is constant HDD click sounds and I guess system won't let it to go sleep.

Thanks for your help

Hello! Thank you for contacting TerraMaster. To troubleshoot your issue more accurately, could you please provide the following information:
1. Which hard drive is the system drive in your current device environment;
2. What type of storage pool has been created for each of the two hard drives.

Hi, Thank you for your quick response

1. The one with 22 TB is system disk (also the NVMe disk is system disk)

Here is my storage pools. Each drive has its own pool.

NVMe disk --> System disk and Storage pool 1
HDD 1 (22 TB) ---> System disk and storage pool 2
HDD 2 (8 TB) ---> Storage pool 3

I want to remove System Disk on HDD 1 without loosing and data if possible.

Hello! Thank you for contacting TerraMaster! Based on the device information you provided, you can use the System Disk feature (Storage Management > Disks > System Disk). Follow these steps:
1. On the System Disk page, select HDD1 and click the Delete button. This will remove the system partition.
2. Then remove the disk.
Note: This operation will not delete any data partitions on the disk. You can proceed with confidence.
