[Help] Single drive to raid 1 without wiping hdd

Post by Metrogeek »

Just bought D2-320 DAS. I'm Doing some test right now with old hdd before using my 12 TB full of data in it.. Is there a way i can migrate from single drive to Raid 1 without wiping the data on it... I don't have enough space to backup it before. As per the manual, i need to select raid type and press reset for 5 second... But that's wiping the drive. Any other way to do that without wiping...?

If not, my best way to do it is probably setting both single drive and sync my data to the second drive using some software... Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi.
RAID1 can only be formatted from scratch via Reset, so your idea cannot be realized. When the pointer points to Single, the D2-320 can recognize the data on your 12TB Single disk without needing to press Reset.
