I followed some posts such as this one:

It seems that this problem still exists on TOS 6 (latest version 6.0.794-01324).
I had to copy files from an existing file server to my new Terramaster NAS and found numerous files were skipped.
Some were related to MAC OS files and I deleted those so that is not the problem.
Very simple files like jpg's are not being copied. I can manually copy them from the file server to my own desktop and open the file just fine BUT copying to the TNAS won't ever work.
I used Syncbak (file backup program) for this effort and the error is "Failed to copy from Source : Safe copy failed. Failed to rename temp file: File does not exist".
I found someone else's post that explains that if you zip the file or folder and move it to the TNAS, then you can easily unzip and get those files where they should have been copied. It works exactly that way so what is wrong with TOS 6? Why does it selectively choose not to copy files even though the files exist and are not corrupt at all?
Unable to copy files to F4-424 PRO [SOLVED]
Re: Unable to copy files to F4-424 PRO
Hi.
Your situation may not be exactly the same as the case of the post owner you mentioned.
Please explain the copy method you are using.
If you are using the SMB protocol, please check the "Vote files" list under TOS - Control Panel - SMB Service to see if it includes the file type you mentioned.

Re: Unable to copy files to F4-424 PRO
This is a simple jpg file (image) and was not listed in the "Control Panel->File Service->SMB->Advanced->Veto files
The entry there is the following:
/.AppleDB/.AppleDesktop/Network Trash Folder/Temporary Items/Thumbs.db/.safe/
I already copied terabytes of data that included images from the same file format. The TNAS somehow decides on a very small subset of files not to copy no matter if I used the web interface or Windows file explorer.

Based on the current description, it is not possible to confirm the specific cause of the problem. You can go to the official website's live chat to schedule a remote troubleshooting session with an engineer.
When making the reservation, please include the link to this post to help customer service understand some basic information.

Re: Unable to copy files to F4-424 PRO [SOLVED]
I found the link that helped me the most even though these files were not Apple related. As I mentioned, I simply zipped the problem files and then unzipped them onto the TNAS where it finally worked. Copying directly from the file server to the TNAS or from my notebook to the TNAS for specific files never worked.

I manually addressed the files that wouldn't copy which cost me hours of extra effort. I can only assume most people do not use TOS 6 and usually install another operating system or else this would have shown up for more people.
When I bump into more problem files again, I will request a remote session to capture the issue. Thank you.
