I've been investigating multichannel on f6-424max and it appear than multichannel doesn't work. I've "edited" the reference file for smb.conf so the multi channel line is included after smbd restart but after running testparm it throws errors. the GUI check box is checked but doesn't seem to enable anything or affect the smb functions.
Is this a known issue with the latest build?
ref output:
testparm -s | grep -i multi
Load smb config files from /etc/samba/smb.conf
Unknown parameter encountered: "multichannel"
Ignoring unknown parameter "multichannel"
Loaded services file OK.

[Help] SMB multichannel working?
Re: [Help] SMB multichannel working?
May I ask if you have set up Bond? And has the multi-channel service also been enabled on your PC end?

Re: [Help] SMB multichannel working?
I had previously configure LACP on nas and switch. But this fundamentally disables multipath for a singular smb transfer. The NAS was reconfigured with out bonding and had each adapter configured for same subnet with only one port identifying a gateway.
TOS6 should still confirm multichannel is enabled even if an active link is not present. Checking smb in windows 11 pc during transfer showed multiple connections so 192.*.*.10 and 192.*.*.11 (windows pc links to switch) connecting to 192.*.*.4 (NAS link to switch). This is what spawned the questions as windows will find the multiple links and should populate 4 configs which include the second 192.*.*.5 (second NAS link with no gateway). if multi channel is active on both system. The fact that windows was using both ports but the NAS only received on the one port was odd.
I confirmed windows smb setup with RSS and multi channel enabled. From windows PC the setup is "correct". On the NAS the fact that multichannel is not responding is apparent.

Re: [Help] SMB multichannel working?
I have tested with the secondary NAS link on a 10.*.*.5 net and there was no difference other than an odd issue with plex locally being unable to see the NAS... but web access worked. Found the network setting in plex was specifically pointed to the 192.*.*.5 address. This is odd because it was previously set to "any". But sticking to the SMB multi channel issue, multiple links don't work and transfer speeds support this fact. I noticed no difference using host name for the share in windows or the 192.*.*.4 NAS IP. Didn't change when PC secondary link configured for 10.*.*.6. The smb transfer only linked on one overall path.

Re: [Help] SMB multichannel working?
Ok so upon further investigation it appears certain command or "features" aren't enabled in this samba build. Was able to confirm after some resets and further configuration multichannel based on windows 11 checks. Was able to confirm multi paths on both source interfaces to both NAS interfaces. Perhaps in later builds, a more "full feature" samba build may be included?? Cheers.
Re: [Help] SMB multichannel working?
Please cancel the bond.
TOS6 samba is configured by default for multiple channels, and no changes to SMB settings are required.
You may not have established multiple connections correctly.
Please try clearing the SMB connection cache in Windows 11, restarting the samba service on the NAS, and then reconnecting.
