Hi, f2-212 user here.
is there a timeline for the full release of tos6? have been on the beta for about 7-8 months now and would like to know when all of the functions from tos5 such as docker will come back. thank you.

I'm shocked, such a reputable company doesn't give answers to questions, and it does it so sarcastically! I'm disappointed!

So that's not apples to apples.pennypacker wrote: ↑11 Nov 2025, 18:11 … TerraMaster software support is shockingly, abysmally, diabolically bad.
By comparison, the equivalent QNAP 2 bay 233 has had 6 operating system updates in the same period - source
TerraMaster needs to do much, much better.
6 updates may have been released, but there hasn't been an upgrade on the underlying kernel, as QNAP QTS 5.× is still on the Linux LTS 5.1.× kernel which is what the current TOS 5.1.× for ARM uses; TOS 6 is built upon Linux LTS 6.1.× kernel & moved from a buildroot release to being more Ubuntu-adjacent (which is why old configurations backups don't work) which are major changes.
TOS 5.1.× ARM builds had a few point releases, but TerraMaster's development focus was changed internally to TOS 6.× ARM, which itself has had some updates (per this thread).
Every commenter here agrees that TOS 6.× for ARM should be out of beta & have had some updates to boot by now, but that's obviously not the case yet.
Re: Public Beta Testing for TOS 6 ARM Version
This is pretty poor really. TOS 7 beta is out for a lot of models and we are still stuck with a semi working TOS 6. It took me ages to decide which NAS to buy and I've obviously made the wrong choice.

Re: Public Beta Testing for TOS 6 ARM Version
Choosing any closed source ARM based NAS should be a last resort if budget doesn't allow for purchasing an ×86/×64 unit.
Every NAS brand that has used an ARM architecture ends up stuck on a single kernel generation for the life of the product because the SoC platform manufacturer often drops support as soon as a new revision is announced & made available; RealTek (whom TerraMaster and many others use) and Annapurna Labs <now under Amazon>, which are in the majority of inexpensive ARM based NAS units, regularly drop development of old solutions.
It's unfortunate that functionality like docker was dropped between the publicly available official TOS 5.1.× ARM builds and these beta TOS 6.× builds, with no guarantee given that it'll return in future builds.
