Hello-- I am the happy owner of a new F4--425 Plus, and have a question regarding initial configuration.
I have an existing 2-disk RAID1 array and I had the impression that you can mount an existing RAID array on this NAS.
Ultimately I have 4 drives to use in this NAS, which will include the original 2 disks that were part of the RAID1 array. My goal is to first grab everything off the 2-disk RAID1 array and backup to an outboard USB drive. Then I will add two more disks, configuring the 4 disk NAS, and finally move back the data stored on the USB outboard drive to the NAS
I am hoping this is possible, and that some folks here are well versed with the NAS and its software and can point me in the right direction.
Thanks for any suggestions or advice.

[Help] Initial config with existing RAID1
Re: [Help] Initial config with existing RAID1
If you can first back up all data to an external USB drive, the process becomes straightforward.
Once the backup is complete, you can delete the existing array and then use the four disks to create any desired array configuration. Afterward, transfer the data back to the NAS.
Also, to confirm:
Are the disks in your existing RAID1 array being used in an F4-425 Plus?
What type of array are you ultimately aiming to set up—multiple arrays, or the same type of array across all four disks?
