I make use of the Samba "User Homes" feature. My domain clients all have their home directories and profile paths in their Active Directory users pointing to default created user home share, and a "profiles" share I created myself.
These all exist on /Volume1 (i.e. i can see /home is mounted to a directory on /Volume1).
Since then I have added a pair of SSDs, these are on /Volume2. I would now like to move my profiles and home directories onto the new much faster volumes.
While I can move my `profiles` share, which is just an ordinary "Shared Folder", I cannot move my user home directories as well.
I would like ability to change the volume on which homes are stored.
I do not mind if I have to physically move the files myself, although maybe something automated would be an added bonus.
Request ability to change "User Homes" Volume.

Re: Request ability to change "User Homes" Volume.
Is there a way to move Samba "User Homes" directories to a different volume, like from /Volume1 to /Volume2, while keeping functionality and optionally automating the process?tanktarta wrote: ↑24 Sep 2024, 23:39 I make use of the Samba "User Homes" feature. Is there any update on this? I would also like to move my user homes to Volume 2.

Re: Request ability to change "User Homes" Volume.
Hi, please consider adding this option, autocreating on volume 1 is not great, option to set it manually would be greatly appreciated! As it is I'm not using the home mount since it points to a wrong volume
Thanks
Stefan
