Best way to check for bad sectors on brand new disks?

Post by elhefegaming »

I'm getting a F4-212 and 4 8tb hard drives; but before I start to use the NAS I want to do a comprehensive check on the disks.
What's the best approach to this? Can you run badblocks on the 4 disks simultanously?

Thanks!

Most if not all those apps are windows based. Isn't there a way to use the NAS to fully check the disks?

Bad sector scanning, benchmarking, and S.M.A.R.T testing can be performed on TOS. When installing TOS, you can choose Custom installation to prevent the system from automatically creating storage pools and volumes temporarily. This allows you to smoothly run these tests in Control Panel - Hard Drive - Hard Drive.
