Built-in Quick Health Snapshot for Drives

Post by mattycash »

Hi all, I’m still fairly new to TNAS (about three months in), and one thing I keep wishing for is a really simple "health snapshot" button for the drives. Right now, you have to dig into SMART details or run a full test, which takes time and isn’t very beginner-friendly.
What I’d love to see is a quick overview page that, with a single click, shows basic status like drive temp, wear level, and any warning signs, almost like a dashboard light in a car. It wouldn’t replace deeper diagnostics, but it would give users peace of mind at a glance.
I think this could help new users like me feel more confident about our data safety without needing to learn every SMART attribute right away.

Thank you for your feedback. Currently, our system only displays the hard drive temperature and read/write speed on the page.
After detecting a risk of hard drive failure, an alert will be displayed on the page.
I will relay your suggestion to the product team to consider displaying more hard drive-related information on the page.
