Hi,
There was a lighniting and due to power surge the F2-421 is now not powering up (No leds come up). Any suggestion to fix it or get it serviced? Will the HDD be intact? can I use the HDD in another NAS. Please suggest an alternate NAS as the F2-421 is no longer available.

You can refer to this post to troubleshoot potential hardware issues with your NAS: viewtopic.php?t=4837.
You can migrate the hard drive to a new NAS to read the data, provided that the hard drive itself is not damaged.
If you want a 2-bay NAS, you might consider the F2-423 or F2-424. If you have other requirements, you can visit the official website to choose a NAS that meets your needs.

Re: [Help] F2-421 NAS 2-Bay not starting after power surge.
Hi I had bought a F2-424 and installed the old hard disk. The Power LED is green and HDD LED is also solid green. But I am unable to connect using the TNAS.Local or previous ip address. Am I missing any steps?
Re: [Help] F2-421 NAS 2-Bay not starting after power surge.
With a different piece of hardware, the ip address under dhcp will inevitably change. DHCP server sees a new MAC address for the network card and assigns a new IP address. Many other things might be possible, but that is my first guess. Use TNAS-pc or TNAS-mobile to search the network. Initially only connect LAN1 of the nas to simplify. Check your router/dhcp server for client list to identify the ip address issued. (Verify via nas mac address either on the unit or packaging iirc).

Re: [Help] F2-421 NAS 2-Bay not starting after power surge.
Do you recall which system version you were using previously? Based on your older model, it is likely that the system was TOS 4. Please note that the boot mechanisms of the F2-421 and F4-424 are different, so the old hard drives cannot boot directly when inserted into the F2-424. Additionally, TOS 4 uses a 2GB system partition, whereas TOS 5 and later versions use an 8GB system partition, leading to structural differences that can cause compatibility issues during direct migration.
Considering these factors, we recommend the following solution:
Purchase an M.2 SSD and install the latest TOS 6 system on the F2-424. After installation, you can schedule a remote support session with a TerraMaster engineer via the official website’s online chat. Once the remote setup is completed, you can insert the old hard drives and reboot the NAS. After that, you should be able to access your original data directly from the TOS file manager.
How to schedule remote support:
Please contact TerraMaster technical support through the online chat window on the official website, and include the link to this forum post to help the engineer quickly understand your issue.

Re: [Help] F2-421 NAS 2-Bay not starting after power surge.
I went ahead with Gremlin's suggestion and started used the TNAS-PC, even before the reply from MikeZhang. I booted with no HDD and the device was identified in the TNAS-pc and I started the initialization and added the HDDs as suggested to proceed. Now the sync is all complete I don't see my old data.
