[Help] Standby and wake on very very slow.

Post by luismartin »

On my previous NAS from other brands, when the drives woke up from standby, data access was almost instantaneous.
On the T12-450 model, with a power boot, the access to RAID5 data takes 1:30 minutes, but accessing data from standby takes 1:25 minutes, almost the same as a power boot.
So, a standby is absurd; the enclosure is consuming power to access data as if it were a power boot.
My first question is whether it's possible to configure with an SSH command to have all the drives boot simultaneously, rather than one by one, which is what slows down the wake-up from standby.
(I imagine a first response will be that this is because the consumption is gradual; on my other NAS, there has never been a problem booting all the disks at once.

The second question, since the Standby mode used by TOS is practically useless, is it possible to modify TOS with an SSH command in some way so that instead of choosing Standby in 1 hour, 2, 3..., it chooses Shutdown in 1 hour, 2, 3...?

If it takes you almost the same time of power on as it does to wake up from standby, I prefer every time to use a shutdown and power on.

I would be curious to know what other brand/model nas you have (or had) and is it comparable as regards the number of drives?
F5-221 TOS6.0.794 - 4x4TB Traid (TNAS UPS Server :?: Broken :?: )
F2-424 TOS7.0.0392 {BETA} - 2x500GB nvme (P3) Traid, 2x6T HDD Traid
F2-221 TOS7.0.0364 - 1x3TB Ext4, 1x4TB Ext4 [Test system]
Gremlin is in 'Listening' mode

The Orico brand.

And is there any answer to my questions about whether the requests I'm making could be modified?

I'd also appreciate it if anyone has replaced TOS with another operating system like Unraid or similar, and how the wake-up behavior compares to TOS.
