[Help] Changed Hard Drive Sleep from 1 hour to Never and F4-424 has become unresponsive

Post by JETFIRE13 »

Hello!

I Changed Hard Drive Sleep setting from 1 hour to Never and F4-424 and F4-424 Pro have both become unresponsive.

Both have 4 12TB seagate ironwolf drives in them in TRAID and when I changed and applied the setting, the drives started working like crazy and sound like they are just in some looping/ grinding loop that never ends. I tried rebooting from the web interface and they beeped once and then never rebooted. I manually did a hard shut down on them, waited for a minute and hit the power button again. They beep once and then just go into the griding/ initializing loop again.

I can't access them from the web interface and TNAS PC won't see them on the network anymore.

Is this a known issue? It seems odd that changing this setting on both of my boxes completely incapacitated them.

Thanks for any help! I appreciate it.
