[Help] TNAS PC for windows login failure  [SOLVED]

Post by Nikdfish »

I am using TNAS PC for windows version 5.2.186. My NAS is a F2-423 running TOS 6.0.694-00165. My PC is running Windows 11 Home, version 24H2.

Logins via TNAS PC are currently failing. When the login attempt is made, it fails with a popup message "connection timed out, please try logging in again". This message appears immediately upon clicking the "confirm" button on the login popup. Repeated attempts produce the same result, regardles of which ID is used, with both superuser and normal ID's.

I can log into the NAS by using a browser pointed to the NAS IP address. Functions once logged in seem normal.

I have not yet tried rebooting the NAS, hoping to get more information if available.

Any suggestions?

Nick

Did you enable any proxy connection on your computer?

I installed TNAS PC on another machine (Windows 10) and the login worked with no problem. I went back & restarted the machine that had presented the problem and it was able to login without a problem. Sorry I forgot to try that first. The problem was apparently local to the machine & cleared following a reboot.

Sorry for any confusion I may have caused. Thank you, though, for the attention you gave my apparently self inflicted issue.

I will cancel the engineer remote assistance appointment.

I had a repeat occurrence of the "connection timeout" error popping up, this time associated with directory/file access on a mapped drive, but a reboot resolved it. This was on the same machine as before.

Not creating a trouble ticket, just posting as an FYI.
