Hi everyone,
I'm using USB Copy to perform a backup task every day.
There is not much data to be backed so far, but I noticed a problem that make the backup fail.
in the settings I checked the box
- "Eject the USB device when the backup is complete" and
- "Automatically mount the USB device before he backup task starts" .
USB copy correctly execute the backup task, unmount the disk as it was supposed to do, but on the next run,it's not able to remount is and the backup fails.
Unfortunately the backup fails because USB copy does not mount the disk before the backup task start.
What can i do?

Re: [Help] USB copy unable to mount disk before backup task
Hello! To help you more efficiently identify and resolve the issue, please follow the steps below for testing and verification, and provide us with your feedback.
You can attempt to set up a backup task again while the NAS is in normal operation. Observe:
Whether the backup task automatically unmounts the USB after completion. Whether the USB automatically mounts at the scheduled task execution time.
① If no issues occur during this test, we suspect that your NAS might have been in a hibernation or powered-off state before executing the original backup task.
② If the issue persists, you can export the logs via the application's log module and send them to us by email at [email protected].
Re: [Help] USB copy unable to mount disk before backup task
Hi TM_Buddy,
Unfortunately I've done different tries with the same result. Backup fails because device is not mounted.
I tried to schedule the backup in the next five minutes during my usage: same result
I tried launching a manual backup , pressing play in the button in the backup schedule settings. : same result.
Backup is set up by the admin user and admin user has got permission over the usb hard drive.
in the application log I just find the following event:
The USB Storage Device is not mounted (block device not mount)
Let me know if you need more info

Re: [Help] USB copy unable to mount disk before backup task
I am the admin user
I was just wondering if it could be a permission related issue.
I checked that the permission I set in the control panel for the usb disk was assigned to the "admin user" only.
In the "usb copy" app the backup routing has been created by the "admin user" , the same "admin user" has got read/write permission on the shared folder to be backed up.
There is a single disk connected to the NAS.
Any suggestion or configuration I could replicate?
I would like not to leave the disk mounted all along.
