English translation: I bought Terramaster F4 424 PRO. I installed 2x8TB Volume1 BTRFS TRAID and 2x4TB Volume2 BTRFS TRAID. System on 2x8tb. From the very beginning I have had a problem with putting disks from Volume1 to sleep. They do not go to sleep. Sleep is set after 10 minutes. Sometimes they go to sleep but after only a minute they wake up and it has been like this from the very beginning. I bought NVME SSD disks, installed 2 pieces, reset the system and installed it on the ssd, unfortunately it did not change anything. So far I have been using NAS WD, there were no problems, they woke up according to the system's needs when once every 3 days there was a few hours of data copying, the rest of the time the disks were asleep, here two disks go to sleep and the other two work continuously. I also tried to put the system on Volume1 and enable HyperCache for disks and it didn't change anything. What am I doing wrong? I've been struggling with this for a few days now, I still have the option to return the device to the store because if this is how it's supposed to work, unfortunately for me it's unacceptable for disks to work continuously
Polski:
Kupiłem Terramaster F4 424 PRO . Zamontowałem 2x8TB Wolumin1 BTRFS TRAID i 2x4TB Wolumin2 BTRFS TRAID .
[Help] New F4 424 PRO HDD do not go into sleep mode
Re: [Help] New F4 424 PRO HDD do not go into sleep mode
A nas is essentially a server. Server operating systems are always doing something whether that is monitoring the state of the drives, checking system temps or other basic housekeeping. None of that happens without "activity". If you do a new install and select the nvme drive(s) as the "installation drives" you are leaving your HDD (if you have them) separate for pure storage. System activity can continue on the nvme/ssd which are not bothered by start/stop activities. Hence the hdd can 'sleep'. What I suspect you are looking for is 'hibernation' which is more in keeping with desktop systems. (Where you might have to click a mouse or keyboard key to wake up the machine. Typically servers don't have keyboards and mice - just a thought). As recently as TOS5, the o/s could only be installed on ALL the drives with everything that this implies.

Regardless of which drive the system is installed on, once you access the system, the storage pool and volumes will be loaded, and all connected drives will be woken up.

Re: [Help] New F4 424 PRO HDD do not go into sleep mode
I see there is an option, and I want to use it
TOS 6 Control Panel -> Main Settings -> Hardware and Power -> HDD Sleep Mode -> 10 minutes
Unfortunately, my disks work non-stop
Sometimes I hear that the disks stop spinning but after 30 seconds they wake up
On devices from other companies this function works without any problems for me, maybe I configured something incorrectly
Maybe reinstall everything? Maybe I did something wrong?
I have 2x 256gb nvme, 2x 8tb, 2x 4tb - what do you suggest to get fast write / read, what settings and parameters?

Re: [Help] New F4 424 PRO HDD do not go into sleep mode
You can type in the disk
iotop
This command will display the disk I/O activity of each process, helping you find the process that occupies the disk.

Where to enter this command iotop?
I went away for a few days for work, I'll check when I get back. I remotely check the power consumption from time to time and I see 25W, so I guess some disk is still working . I wanted low power consumption in standby mode , I read on the forum that there are people with the same device and in standby mode their power consumption is around 15W
