Hi All,
I just wanted to share that I had an issue with TOS 6 initialization getting stuck at the "Email Security" screen. I just replaced my F4-210 with the F4-423 and was using the same NAS Drives. I formatted the NAS drives, ensured they were healthy (no bad sectors) and began the process.
Initialization started as expected with the discs out of the bays. TNAS PC recognized the device immediately on my iMac (wired) but not on my PC (wi-fi). I popped the drives into the bays, and started the initialization using the iMac. Everything went well until reboot, when TNAS PC would immediately stop recognizing the TNAS and the initialization webpage(assigned ip) became unreachable. I navigated to http://tnas.local and the set up process continued.
Every time I got to the "Security Email" section, however, I would get a spinning blue circle and everything would stop. This happened whether or not I input my email address and requested the security code, or not. Even if I skipped verification, the same thing would happen. STUCK - have to start over.
After several attempts to initialize (Yes, i allowed incoming connections for TNAS to bypass my firewall/ turned off firewall, both on my PC and iMac) I contacted support, who were great to run through all the steps to troubleshoot btw. Ultimately, their advice, however, was to check out this forum post - viewtopic.php?t=2407, because the storage pool was too large, or my discs had errors.
I knew both conditions were not true in my case. With the dreaded blue circle at the Email Security screen on the iMac yet again, I decided to try the assigned ip on my PC... and BOOM! Working like a charm. I was able to access TOS 6 with no problem, set up my storage pool and volumes, and get going! I checked on my iMac, and the blue circle was STILL spinning.
I have no idea why this happened, especially when the NAS was picked up on the iMac (wired) and not on the PC (wi-fi) at the start of initialization... all I know, is that initialization was having issues with iMac, but seems to work fine with PC right now.
Might be something you want to look into if you have the means. Might also be something Terramaster support could look into, to see if there is a deeper issue happening. Just wanted to share
