Seagate Amazon Renewed Hard drives

Post by alfonzzo2004 »

Can anyone advise on their experience using Amazon's Seagate Renewed Hard drives? Is it worth the cheap price? Thoughts anyone? Thx

Regardless of what they say (and this is the first time I have heard of these drives) I'm pretty sure you cannot (ever) change the smart data - THAT is what it is for. So, they will always be used drives.

i would becareful with what seagate hard drives you actually use, make sure they are actually compatible for the NAS

while the Seagate Baraccuda works fine in the F2-210, when i tried the same hard drive in the F2-423 i had issues, really slow reads and whole system was sluggish, trying to copy any data onto it would just drop to 0kb/s then go up a bit and then drop to 0kb/s again, replaced it with a WD hard drive and that solved the issue
