I just ordered a D4-300 to connect to my Synology NAS as a backup destination to individual drives.
i read that there is an issue of drives not mounting in the same order each time on reboot of the D$ or the Synology, therefore the backups point to the wrong destination after a reboot...
Can anyone let me know if this is still true?

The order of drive symbols is related to the startup timing of the HDDs.
Typically, HDD box products like the D4-300 do not specify the startup sequence of the HDDs.
You might consider making some adjustments in your NAS system.
