Backup options

Post by gaz2k1uk »

Currently running F2-422 with x2 8tb (RAID0), with external USB 8gb using USB Copy as a backup.

Looking at upgrading to a F4-424 with an x1 16tb to begin with, when looking at backup options for this what is the best (and cost effective) option, can I use my old NAS? If so, what backup option would be best?

Would like to get a DAS later down the road instead as a backup, what would be best with this NAS?

For home use so within the same network.
Setup:
System: F2-422
OS: TOS 6.0.535
HD: x2 IronWolf 6TB (RAID 0)
Notes: 8GB System Partition!

Backup:
USB COPY: Seagate 8GB External Expansion HDD

if it helps im using TFM Backup to do just this

F2-423 is the primary NAS, backup up to the older F2-210 daily and also at the same time backing up to a USB drive

ive got it set for Mirror mode so it actually only transfers files that have changed, so it is very quick to perform the backup i.e its not in my case doing a 5TB backup daily etc only the odd one or two files etc
F2-424 TOS 7.0.0765
F2-423 TOS 7.0.0765
F2-210 TOS 4.2.44
D4-320

C/O
F4-424 TOS 6.0.794
